BFS is delighted to announce its latest investment into a third building to expand the space available for their filmmaking students.

The new site is a two-minute walk from Brighton Pier and the bustling Lanes of Brighton, making it the perfect location for filmmakers and within close proximity to the existing sites on London Road and Ditchling Road.

Film and television is now the second biggest contribution to the UK economy and BFS is investing in future creative talent with this new creative campus.

Located by the Old Steine, the building consists of four floors and it will certainly look the part, but the facilities that will be on offer will speak for themselves.

The facilities that are currently being planned include a versatile modern green screen studio with brand new LED fixtures, a high spec Dolby 5.1 sound system in our new 4K Screening Room, top of the range Mac Suite complete with industry-standard software and a student social space that will be four times the size of the current student common area at the established London Road site.

Brighton is the birthplace of early British cinema with hundreds of film, television and media production companies in the local area. The new building will continue to grow industry opportunities for filmmaking students, graduates and tutors supported through extensive industry partnerships and collaborations.

Brighton Film School Principal, Itziar Leighton, is looking forward to the future, she said: “We searched long and hard to find just the right location for our students, we wanted to ensure that we were not just offering fantastic facilities but a superb location right in the heart of Brighton just a few minutes stroll to the seafront. We are really excited to see all the work and interior design happening and can’t wait to welcome our students.”

The Old Steine building will be ready in September 2019.
