The Screen and Film School Guide to Clearing

Are you ready to tell your story?

At Screen and Film School, we understand that the last few months have undoubtedly raised more questions than you were anticipating in your move to higher education. Rest assured- at Screen and Film School we’ve been working tirelessly to ensure that you are able to experience and create your own unique and innovative programme of study, that is fully compliant with government advice and guidance regarding Covid-19 and still the practical learning environment we pride ourselves on.

But we also understand that weighing up your university options involves other, more traditional factors, such as:

  • What city you’ll be based in
  • Meeting your film school family
  • Budgeting your money
  • Finding student accommodation

And we know that these kinds of decisions can play on any students’ mind as they advance toward this new chapter of their lives. That’s why over these summer months we’re putting together our top tips and tricks to make starting this exciting new start as stress-free and seamless as possible, as well as exploring case studies from our current students, graduates, industry partners and staff on how Film Made Them… Keep an eye out for these on our social media channels and website!

We want to make sure you’re not only Clearing ready, but that you’re fully set to hit play on your career in Filmmaking come September.

In the meantime, here is how clearing works:

What is clearing?

Clearing is how unis and colleges fill any places they still have on their courses. For us, that means publicising a list of Screen and Film School courses which still have vacancies, and for you it’s an ideal way to find another course if you aren’t totally satisfied with the current options you have in front of you.

How long does clearing last?

This year, Screen and Film School’s Clearing will be available from Monday 6th July. If you already have your exam results, but no offers, you can use Clearing from July. If you’ve had conditional offers, but your exam results didn’t quite go according to plan, you can use Clearing on A Level results day through the UCAS website.

What Screen and Film School courses have clearing vacancies?

BA Hons Filmmaking

3 year course

UCAS Code = P3W3

Institution Code = B39

BA Filmmaking top-up degree

1 year course

UCAS Code = P315

Institution Code = B39
