Caroline Testa

Specialist Technician - Production Design

Caroline graduated with a first class degree in Technical Arts and SFX from Wimbledon School of Art. After working in a foundry using the lost wax technique making large bronze sculpture, she went on to practice as a junior sculptor for the Madame Tussauds studios. Caroline has extensive experience in theatre, performance, puppetry and prop making, as well as assisting SFX make-up artists on independent film. She is fascinated in the psychology behind why human beings are motivated to make things, tell stories, and how certain objects become meaningful.

Having attained a PGCE specialising in teaching for creative industries at FE and HE level, she went on to teach the Prop Making and SFX foundation degree, then a Prop Making and SFX BA (Hons) at Northbrook College and Brighton MET. She has been a visiting industry lecturer at Lewes Downs College and Central School of Speech and Drama as well as developing, filming and editing online content for Anne’s International Art School. She specialises in teaching practical craft workshops such as life casting, mould making, sculpting, casting, model making, refining and finishing techniques.
