Martin Thompson is a freelance film editor who has been worked on multiple-award-winning documentary films and series for BBC, ITV and Channel 4 for the last 17 years.

Martin recently won RTS and BAFTA awards for Best Single Documentary for the film ‘Rio Ferdinand: Being Mum and Dad”. He has been the lead editor on multiple prime time series including the first series of C4’s First Dates and the first series of BBC1’s Ambulance.

In addition, Martin has run the BBC/Dragonfly’s high end documentary editing training scheme with two apprentices working under his guidance.

He is currently cutting a feature documentary about the footballer Wayne Rooney.
