Screen and Film School Manchester Facilities

Welcome to Riverside Studios, a 13,000sqft dedicated to helping our Manchester students kickstart their career in film.

Situated on the doorstep of one of the city’s most vibrant destinations, the building is a stone’s throw away from vital industry connections such as Manchester Studios, ABC, and The Factory.

Within easy reach of Space Studios and Media City, and sitting amidst a bustling, creative atmosphere, Screen and Film School Manchester students feel like they are stepping straight into the industry from day one of their undergraduate degree course, and not simply learning about it from a distance.

Riverside Studios is over 13,000sqft and houses two production studios.

Studio 1 is a 1500sqft bespoke drama film set enabling students to familiarise themselves with set etiquette, chains of command, multi-camera film directing and all that it takes to succeed in high-end film and TV.

Studio 2 includes a green screen infinity cove for music promos, live tv, and attached facilities including gallery, green room, make-up, and guest waiting area.

Riverside Studios also houses fully spec’d edit suites equipped with industry standard software such as Avid, Adobe Suite, DaVinci Resolve studio and Final Cut X, two Mac rooms, a screening room, and camera kit including industry standard Arri and Sony cameras..

Students are provided with the professional standard facilities to both work and study in, whilst also providing impressive client facing facilities to audition and bring in talent on their productions.

“Having the Screen and Film School students at the heart of Enterprise City will bring a new energy to the area and we can’t wait to see how that develops in the coming years.”
Mel Jones, Managing Director of Manchester Studios

There are also several open spaces including a learning resource area with a circular glazed library overlooking the river housing bespoke edit suites, student lounges and multiple meeting rooms for production meetings.

The building was previously home to the headquarters of The Farm Group– one of the world’s leading providers of post-production services that have recently worked on projects such as It’s A Sin, Gentlemen Jack, The Last Tango in Halifax, All Creatures Great and Small, and Naked Attraction.
