Into Games Announced as Creative Technology Partner for Future Talent Scholarship

Screen and Film School Brighton is pleased to announce the Into Games Future Talent Scholarship. The scholarship will support a talented student beginning their studies in BA (Hons) Games Design & Development or BA (Hons) Games Art & Technology in September 2024.

Into Games is a nonprofit dedicated to increasing diversity and inclusion in the gaming industry. Founded on the belief that everyone should have access to the support they need in order to build a career in the games industry, Into Games is dedicated to helping create a more diverse and accessible UK games sector. With a strong focus on inspiring and nurturing people at every stage of their career, the Into Games vision is all about empowerment for current and future games professionals, regardless of background.

We are so thrilled to have Into Games as our scholarship partner for the Creative Technology faculty at Screen and Film School Brighton. The nonprofit’s mission aligns perfectly with that of our university, and particularly the Creative Technology faculty, which is built around an accessible and inclusive learning environment for students of all learning styles, identities and backgrounds.

Into Games’ Role as Scholarship Partner

The Into Games Future Talent Scholarship is designed to cultivate emerging talent, providing financial support and opportunities for students to excel in their careers.

The Into Games Future Talent Scholarship

Open to eligible students starting their degree in September 2024, the scholarship offers full three-year tuition fees for a candidate from a low-income household or underrepresented group in higher education. This scholarship aims to support students who demonstrate exceptional talent, creativity, and potential in the gaming field.

Who can apply for the scholarship?

You can apply for the Into Games Future Talent Scholarship if you meet all the following criteria:

  • You are applying for an eligible undergraduate degree at Screen and Film School Brighton, starting in September 2024.
  • Your chosen course is either:
    • BA (Hons) Games Design & Development
    • BA (Hons) Games Art & Technology
  • You are a UK national with home fee status.
  • You are from a low income* household and/or an underrepresented group in higher education. This includes:
    • Students from a global majority background.
    • Students who have experience in care or are estranged.
    • Mature students.
    • Students who identify as part of the LGBTQI+ community, or are from a gender-diverse background.
    • Disabled students.

*Student Finance England (SFE) also offers a full maintenance grant to students with a household income of £25,000 or less.

How to Apply

You will first need to apply for an eligible undergraduate degree course at Screen and Film School Brighton starting in September 2024.

Once you have applied and have your applicant ID, please complete the scholarship application form by clicking the button below.

Applications for the Into Games Future Talent Scholarship close on 12th July 2024. Scholarships will only be awarded to those who go on to accept an offer from Screen and Film School Brighton and complete the enrolment process.

What happens next?

A panel will assess your application and we will contact you as soon as possible regarding the outcome. As this is a competitive process and there are a limited number of scholarships available, we strongly recommend that all applicants follow the usual processes to secure student funding. Where appropriate, successful applicants will be able to amend or cancel their request for financial support from Student Finance England once their scholarship has been awarded.

Applying for the Into Games Future Talent Scholarship will not exclude you from accessing university hardship funds or the Fair Access Fund.
