Screen and Film School has fantastic links with professional companies and our industry partners Panavision and Panalux support us in the loan and donation of high-end kit.
We have the very best industry standard kit such as modern LED-light fixtures, high-end equipment from leading brands such as the Arri Alexa, Red Gemini, Sony PSW-FX9 & Canon C500 MKII, as well as a selection of modern mirrorless DSLRs.
At the heart of every film school site are fully working sets with lighting rigs and flats. The sets are flexible spaces that can be dressed and adapted to the requirements of each shoot, working alongside our Art Department to create your perfect scene.
We pride ourselves on being one of the very few education providers to teach you on both digital and film cameras. Ranging from the Super 16mm to 35mm (the Arriflex SR3 Super 16mm) and the Panavision Panaflex Gold II (35mm), students will have the option to choose which film format will best serve their film. All our film stock is processed at Pinewood Studios by Kodak- the same processors who have worked on world-famous features.
Throughout your course, you’ll learn in our spacious teaching rooms and cutting-edge Mac Labs. Our industry lecturers are also experts in every single element of industry tech (from software to equipment) and will always be on hand to help you upskill, improve and ultimately reach your filmmaking aspirations. The film school’s editing software includes Final Cut Pro X and Adobe.
Brighton
Brighton is a wonderful cosmopolitan city for a creative student. With breath-taking locations on your doorstep such as the beach, the South Downs countryside and a range of vibrant nightlife hot spots, Brighton is one of the most colourful and creative cities to live in the UK. Our two sites are in a central location in Brighton. Less than a 10-minute walk from the train station and around the corner from the popular Lanes, which are filled with bustling restaurants and bars, Screen and Film School is surrounded by captivating culture.
Manchester
Manchester is a city which constantly feels on the verge of something exciting, revolutionary. Generally known for the proud swagger and sense of humour of its locals, it’s most famous exports include Oscar-winning film director Danny Boyle, countless game-changing bands such as The Smiths, Oasis and Elbow, as well as of course those world-famous football teams who play in the red and blue shirts… Whatever your taste, whoever you are, Manchester prides itself as a city anyone can call home.

Site Visits
You will visit festivals, studios and industry events to discover and encounter the very latest in production technology and get hands-on experience testing out the best equipment possible.
Paid Work Opportunities
Companies and clients often reach out to Screen and Film School students offering paid work opportunities. This means you will benefit from professional engagement, build your CV, and get a feel for the industry before you even graduate.
Live Project Briefs
Students can also work for real clients during their time at Screen and Film School, which will provide them with the chance to work to deadlines, understand professional requirements, overcome problems, and deliver the final product – with an emphasis placed on engagement and motivation.
Festival Support
Learn to navigate the international film festival circuit and online outlets in order to maximise opportunities and generate awareness for your films. Graduating students can apply for our Film Festival Fund and independent filmmakers host Masterclasses on the application process. Students’ films are submitted for a number of festivals and awards, including GSA BAFTA Student Awards, CINECITY Open Category, Aesthetica Short Film Festival and David Thomas Student Awards.
Networking Events
Each year, our students benefit from various in-house networking events with our industry partners, as well as exclusive access to expert panels and alumni mentors. These provide great opportunities to build upon current and future projects and to discuss career progression.

At Screen and Film School, we believe it’s important for you to be taught by working professionals who each specialise in their own craft such as directing, cinematography, editing, camera operation and screenwriting.
Our friendly and experienced lecturers will help you develop all the practical skills you need to succeed in your chosen career path in the creative industries.
They will also provide you with exclusive opportunities to work on projects such as documentaries, feature films, short films and editing work – most of which is paid and creates a wonderful opportunity to start to build your filmmaking CV.
