Nick River

Editor

Nick is an editor, who graduated from Screen and Film School Brighton in 2016.

Since becoming an Editor, Nick has worked for such companies as Ricochet, Virtual Post, Be the Fox, B-Music, Fatboy Slim’s record label, Italia Conti Theatre, Kings Academy and GSA (Get Socially Active).

What were the most valuable skills you gained at Screen and Film School?

“Learning to fail. I always saw failing as a negative thing to happen to someone. Film school taught me that as long as you learn from those failings and become confident in those failings that you’ll approach every new task as a learning experience, rather than something you are hesitant to do.”

What advice would you offer current students at Screen and Film School?

“Try everything that is on offer. Most of the time when I was studying, I didn’t take advantage of events that were being offered that would have opened up a lot more doors, experiences and jobs for me.

Also, keep an open communication with the film school on what projects you are doing and who you are working with. Keeping an ongoing relationship with the film school will keep you in the front of their mind when job openings pop up.”
