What to expect
The Filmmaking courses at Screen and Film School offer students a comprehensive view of what it means to be a film professional in today’s highly competitive industry. Flexibly designed, our courses move and grow with you. With professional-standard facilities and programmes taught by industry experts, you’ll develop your expertise as a filmmaker and find the role that’s right for you.
From the start, you’ll build the skills necessary for a successful and sustainable career in the film industry.
You’ll have access to a range of modules that let you specialise in the areas of the industry you’re most passionate about. This is your chance to create a skillset completely unique to you, and to develop to an expert level.
As a Filmmaking student at Screen and Film School, you’ll also collaborate with actors, production designers, hair and make-up artists, video game makers, and musicians throughout your time with us.
Facilities
Our Brighton, Birmingham, and Manchester campuses all boast industry-standard equipment based within state-of-the-art, purpose-built film studios.
Our studio spaces are multi-functional and adaptable to a range of purposes to support innovative and imaginative projects. You also have full support from a team of professional technicians to provide you with the equipment and set-up you need.
From production studios to screening rooms, Mac labs and post-production suites to green rooms and student spaces, we are proud to offer all our students access to the same resources used in the industry.
Lecturers
Our Filmmaking lecturers are all working professionals active in today’s film and TV industries. Experts in their craft, they help you to develop the skills you need to succeed in your chosen career path.
They will also provide you with exclusive opportunities to work on projects such as documentaries, feature films, and shorts to start to build your filmmaking CV and portfolio.
Masterclasses
Screen and Film School’s regular masterclasses feature some of the industry’s leading names. These exclusive events, held at all campuses either in person or virtually, are an excellent opportunity for students across all courses to interact with today’s most influential professionals.
Projects
The creative industries are built on collaboration. As a Filmmaking student at Screen and Film School, you will have regular opportunities to work with students from across music, acting, games making, production design, and hair and make-up – and build your creative network as you do so.
Our students collaborate on music videos, create short films, and develop podcasts that put their unique range of skills in front of a captive audience.

The Screen and Film School Careers team has a wealth of industry contacts at its fingertips. Established relationships with top-line organisations lead to regular, exciting opportunities for our students at all campuses. Our partnerships include Wall to Wall Media, Ricochet, and Renegade (all part of Warner Bros.), among many others.
