Matt Wright

Matt Wright is a Director of Photography/ Lighting Cameraman with specific expertise in factual entertainment. His current credits include Top Gear (BBC), Gordon, Gino and Fred (ITV), The Big Flower Fight (Netflix) and New Order: Decades (Sky Arts).

With over 15 years experience filming flagship television programming, Matt has a wealth of experience to inspire and guide our students. In factual programming, there is much more emphasis put on the DOP to produce cinematic quality footage with fewer resources and people than a large scale drama. Also the nature of documentary making is knowing how to follow a story as it unfolds live in front of you. Matt is adept at visually creating a look and feel for a programme and delivering compelling award winning content. Matt is based in Birmingham with great local knowledge to help students reach their career goals in the region.
