Easter Series Workshop Schedule

Monday 12th April, 10am – 12pm: The Art of Cinematography

Using clips, stills and examples within the session, this workshop will help to explain clearly what the role of a Cinematographer is. We will take an in-depth look into subjects such as camera angles, lens choices and lighting for a variety of different filming scenarios.

Tuesday 13th April, 2pm – 4pm: Wonderful World of Music Videos

Come and join our interactive Music Video workshop where we’ll take you through the creative process from start to finish, including treatment/commissioning, pitching, key stages of production and post production workflows, giving a behind the scenes insight in to how things operate at an industry level.

Wednesday 14th April, 10am – 12pm: Editors – The Unsung Heroes of Film

The only editing cuts we notice are the bad ones! This session will explain why by providing a glimpse behind the cutting room door to reveal the invisible craft of the Editor. We’ll take a dive into a live editing session via Zoom’s screen share function to demonstrate good practices which you can incorporate into your own edits.

Thursday 15th April, 3pm – 5pm: Screenwriting with Jason Wingard

Knowing how to turn that amazing story idea into a script that sells is equal parts art, science, and business. Join Jason Wingard as he talks us through the architects of screenwriting. Come along and create the script that could springboard your career!

Friday 16th April, 10am – 12pm: Interactive Directing

Are you a filmmaker or aspiring Director who wants to learn how to get the very best performance from your actors? Led by Screen and Film School Brighton lecturer Will Jewell, this interactive workshop will include input from two professional actors. Attendees will be invited to direct a virtual scene with expert guidance from Will, giving you the chance to affect two characters’ dialogue and situation.
