Screen and Film School’s guide to Clearing 2022

2 August, 2022

Welcome to Screen and Film School’s guide to Clearing: your one-stop shop to find out everything you need to know about applying to study with us for 2022 entry.

What is Clearing and how does it work?

Clearing is how universities and colleges fill any places they still have on their courses through UCAS. From 5th July, you can apply for a course using Clearing if you’re not already holding an offer from a university or college, and the course still has places.

You can use Clearing if:

  • You’re applying after 30th June
  • You didn’t receive any offers
  • You didn’t meet the conditions of your offers
  • You’ve declined your firm place using the ‘decline my place’ button in Track

If you already have your exam results, and you did not submit a UCAS application in the main scheme, you can use Clearing now. All students must meet conditions and enrol for 2022/23 entry by the 18th October.

If you have had conditional offers, but maybe didn’t achieve the grades you needed for your initial UCAS choices, or you’ve just changed your mind on where you want to study, you can use Clearing from 8:30am on results day (Thursday 18th August) when universities and colleges place a list of their vacancies on the UCAS website. You will be able to add a choice from 2pm on this day.

There are no offers through clearing, just unconditional acceptances. For Screen and Film School, this means we have to confirm that you’ve met any necessary academic requirements before we can accept you on a course.

What courses are available?

We’ve published a full list of Screen and Film School courses which still have vacancies, which you can browse via the UCAS search tool.
