Many of our students share privately rented houses throughout their time on the course to fully immerse themselves in the film school experience.

Our friendly Admissions team will support you in finding the right housemates and advise you on trusted landlord and estate agents you can rent from.

If you are going through a letting agent you will be expected to pay a holding fee, a deposit and usually one month’s rent upfront, plus provide a guarantor.

Ensure that the letting agent you use is following the code of practice of the National Association of Estate Agents.

Facebook is a good way to link up with people who are starting at the same time as you. The admissions team set up a private new starter Facebook group each year in order to support you finding housemates. Using this facility is a great way to post information about yourself, the type of housing you are looking for and any rooms that you or others may know of, which are available for rent.

It’s the perfect place for students to acquaint themselves with their fellow course friends and find appropriate housemates. Look for group names such as “Screen and Film School Manchester 2023 Students”.
